The active monitoring of the health of populations is important to track the success of conservation activities, as well as to diagnose urgencies in conservation. Parque das Aves sponsors these activities and also participates in censuses. Examples of this in 2018 include sponsoring and participating on the team in the Annual Census of the Red-tailed Amazon parrot, an annual activity of the Red-tailed Amazon Parrot Project; being a part of the Annual Census team of the Vinaceous-breasted Amazon parrot, and as part of the National Program for the Conservation of the Vinaceous-breasted Amazon parrot; and sponsoring the 1st Simultaneous Census of Birds of Prey under the coordination of Pedro Scherer at Escarpa Devoniana and the Campos Gerais region.
